Just Inner Self
Is it difficult to start something new or to continue it until we reach our desired results? This life begins from a single cell i.e. zygote. Similarly every new action begins with one single thought. That thought could either be positive or negative. However, we can make progress only if we bring positive thoughts to our mind related to the subject. But why is it so hard to keep ourselves positive? We can prove ourselves best only in that field or discipline in which we have overcome every single negative thought. We may be good in some other discipline but if anyhow, our mind gets preoccupied with any single negative thought of failure, we may refuse to take up that as our mainstream. The initial years of development of a child are very crucial. The kind of environment that surrounds it plays a pivotal role in shaping its intellectual abilities and intelligence. The surroundings in early childhood again can have either positive or negative impact on the child’s brain. Indeed, the environment during the gestation period i.e. when the child is in the womb affects its mental abilities and critical thinking.
Since infancy, for every new ability that we learn, we are being praised and appreciated. This creates a good memory within us and it becomes a source of external motivation. However, going a bit deeper, when we are just born, the first thing we do is cry. Does anyone motivated us to cry? No one. We did it for our survival and this action occurred due to internal motivation, a desire to survive. This journey from unconsciousness to consciousness is brought with the help of internal motivation, rooted within us subconsciously!
So, in order to succeed in life, we need to harness that inner motivation, lying within us subconsciously, rather than depending on some external source of motivation. That is the true way to get success. When we were inside the womb, it was through the changing levels of hormones received from mother via placenta that we were able to sense the environment. Really for that unborn baby, hormones acted truly as chemical messengers.
We live an active social life, communicating with family, friends and strangers daily but doesn’t it feel a bit strange that when we were in womb, for around 9 months i.e. around 279 days we talked just with ourselves, to our mother and to God. In my sense, that was also a sort of meditation! Now, when we are grown up, we find it difficult to meditate even for 5 minutes, but we meditated for around 16,740 minutes without knowing that we were actually meditating.
Meditation is the only way to harness the power of our subconscious mind. It is the source of creation of new life, positive thoughts and internal motivation. Any work done selflessly with determination, good intention and without desiring the outcome for the welfare of the society is the true form of meditation in my opinion.
